The Ritual of Happiness

Happy Friday!!
Today we want to share with you The Ritual of Happiness. Hey, maybe you can even start by doing at least one of these activities this weekend.
·      Get up early: Yes, we know, we know, this is not an easy task, especially if you’re not a morning person. But look at the bright side, if you get up early, your day can be very productive.
·      Visualize your day: Start by planning your activities for that day, it will help you be more organized and your day will flow smoothly. ;)
·      Love yourself: This one is the most important. Why you might ask? Well, why not?! You are one of a kind!! Yes, you are!! Embrace your uniqueness! You have to love yourself first, before loving anyone else. And you won’t be able to recognize when someone else loves you if you don’t love yourself.
·      Eat Healthy and varied: This is a tough one but not an impossible one. One must strive to have a balanced diet. You need vitamins, nutrients, and minerals. When you eat better, you feel better. Not only will you feel better but you will be preventing and controlling health conditions.
·      Follow your dreams: It is imperative to have dreams and goals in life. “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream”, C.S. Lewis. I encourage you to dream and dream big. (This topic deserves its own entry. Coming soon.)
·      Meditate daily and listen to music: Everyone needs to have at least 5 minutes to meditate; focus on who you are, where you are, and where you are going. Contemplate on your inner self.
·      Create healthy habits: It takes 21 days to create a new habit. Why not make it a healthy one? Habits such as helping the environment by recycling or planting a tree. Go out for walks. Start exercising. Drinking more water.
·      Give yourself time: We get caught up with so much going on in our lives and simply live a busy life. We need to take time for ourselves. Time to just relax; listening to music, reading, watching television. We need time to pamper ourselves. You owe it to yourself.
·      Surround yourself with your loved ones: Make the time to spend time with your family and friends. Perhaps it has been a while since you’ve spent time with any one of them; maybe this is a good weekend to do so.
·      Smile: I love quotes and I live by them. I actually found this one the other day, “Random fact: If you smile, even if you’re in a bad mood, it will immediately improve your mood, because the simple action of thinking about smiling and using the muscles is enough to trigger happy chemicals in the brain.” =) I dare you smile a little more this weekend.
·      Believe in yourself: The famous Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right.” I will probably believe in you, maybe your partner, family, and friends will as well, but if you don’t, then it will be very hard for you to achieve something. Just as loving yourself is very important, believing in yourself is as well.
·      Learn something new: One of the ways to prevent Alzheimer’s is by mental stimulation. You can stimulate the mind by learning something new. New things, such as; how to play a musical instrument, a new sport, study a foreign language, etc.
·      Be thankful: There are many things to be thankful for. One of the exercises that I constantly advise my friends to try is to make a list of the things they are thankful for early in the morning. By doing that, they are already setting everything into motion and their moods change to an even more positive one. Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us be thankful.” Buddha.
·      Do what you love and love what you do: Do what you love as long as it is something healthy. Whether it is playing a sport, helping out a stranger, dancing, etc. If you do what you love, you will be happy. And simply love what you do. If you were given a task, do it with love.
·      Celebrate your achievements: After you have achieved a goal, even the tiniest goal ever; celebrate that achievement. It will motivate you to continue setting more goals and dreaming more dreams.
